“It was one of those conversations you have in college where everyone's trying to one-up each other. My friends and I were talking about bad dating experiences, trying to figure out who had been done the absolute worst. We all thought we had at least one story that no one else could possibly top, but the more we talked, the more we realized that we'd all been through the same things. Jokingly, I suggested that maybe we were all dating the same girls. 'Either that,' one of my friends said, 'or they're all just reading the same Bitch Handbook.' The thought of that made me laugh.” - J.Wiltz
And thus a screenplay was born. Written during J.'s early college career (circa 2000) and based on a number of true stories, PINK is indeed a “Bitch Handbook” which realistically depicts the types of situations that really drive guys crazy:
Though initially criticized as sexist in several circles, PINK nonetheless found an enthusiastic audience amongst the sorority crowd at the University of Mississippi, many of whom said it would be offensive if it weren't so true
After several attempts to get off the ground, PINK finally saw the light of production in 2005, thanks to the generous support of J.'s friends, Kelly Barry and Gregg Jones (collectively, Sweeters Productions) and Dr. James Shollenberger. Due to a number of complications following Hurricane Katrina, the film has remained in rough form since its completion, though several scenes have been leaked onto the Net. Depending on their reception, a completed version may eventually be edited together and released on DVD. So, let us know if you want to see the whole thing!
