Since the day PINK was completed in the year 2000, J.Wiltz has fielded accusations that the script portrays young women in a negative light. “Every girl in this movie is sneaky and manipulative,” one of his associates (a student at the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies) told him. “And the ones who aren't sneaky and manipulative are shallow and stupid.”
Obviously, this was not J.'s intention when creating his characters – he prefers to think of PINK as “a satirical celebration of difficult women” - and, as noted, many young women have found the script empowering and (embarrassingly) honest.
Still, in the spirit of fair play, Gemini Hills is openly soliciting for female screenwriters to begin work on BLUE, which will tell the other side of the story. In other words, an instructional video for guys on how to be an asshole. If your script is selected, we will work to have it published and filmed. We know you have stories to tell, ladies, and we'd love to hear them.
